FRESHMAN BAND - Anna Mudroch, Director; Brian Covey, Assistant Director

All freshman band students are assigned to the Freshman Bands, and meet as a class each day during school. The groups serve as an introduction to the high school band experience at LTHS. As enrollment allows, the group is divided in order to give students the maximum opportunity to improve their playing abilities and musical knowledge. Emphasis is placed on developing a base of musical fundamental skills through music and exercises appropriate to the level of the ensemble. Private lessons during band or after school are encouraged of all members in this ensemble as well as a serious commitment to practicing the literature performed. The Freshman Band performs in four formal concerts every year, in addition to two festivals.
