The Marching Porters have a long tradition of excellence and is a source of pride to Lockport area communities. The band has appeared in many parades, both local and statewide, including the State Street Thanksgiving Day Parade, Disney Parades in both Florida and California, and the Von Stuben Day Parade featured in the hit film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". The Marching Porter Band is a volunteer co-curricular ensemble. Membership in the Porter Marching Band consists of auditioned members from the six curricular concert bands and various auditioned individuals in the guard. The Marching Porters performs annually at all home football games, numerous parades, and five to six field competitions. Every member who auditions (alternates and full members) will perform at every home football games and parade. Members selected as alternates will perform in every other field competition. Auditions are held annually in March and will include instructional audition days for any first year members.
11-12 Marching Band Thanks for all those that auditioned for the 2 LTHS Marching Ensembles. The Competitve 11-12 LTHS Marching Porters will rehearse three days a week. Tuesday and Wednesday, rehearsals will be from 3:15-5:45 PM on the band practice field. The activity bus will run at 6:20 PM for any students that are unable to secure separate transportation. The Thursday practice is set for 3:15-5:45 PM (Guard 3:15-7:30 PM) on the band practice field. The Home Show Ensemble will have a mandatory camp to learn the entire show and then rehearse on Friday afternoons prior to the home football games.
